Is today your lucky day? Apparently for wedding coordinators and caterers it is,
as there has been an unusually large number of couples planning on getting hitched today. So many venues are overcrowded that even Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has
gotten into the act, with plans to host seven weddings in its stores on July 7. I wonder if this will become a regular marketing item? "Come to Wal-Mart
for your low price leader of weddings. We have combo packages with silk flowers, dresses, suits and ties ready to go for same day service! And for that
something extra special we can throw in a tent and sleeping bag for two for your honeymoon!" Yeah baby, that's the ticket. Perhaps 7/11 mini markets
should get in on the act for those late planners who will unfortunately be turned away today. "Missed 7/7/07 come on down to 7/11 on 7/11! We got your
wedding vows right here and you can enjoy a free Big Gulp while ya wait!"
Las Vegas Casinos are expecting to be busier than usual today as well, as folks step up to play their favorite games. I'll bet the buffets and bars are running 7 specials too. 7 wonton for $7, 7th Heaven Margaritas for $7 or 7 plates for $77. Hmmm that might be worth it... Course with gas nearing $7 dollars a gallon day by day, it kind of loses the appeal to drive across the desert on a whim. But closer to home California SuperLotto has a draw tonight for $24,000,000. Guess I can join in the 7's fun by getting a $7 dollar ticket. I wonder how many people are going to play the 7's, 7, 17, 27, 37, 47 and Mega 7... with my luck it would probably be about 7 million and we would each reap $3.42 for our trouble.
Got any "7" plans for today?
